Read More14 year 9 female pupils attended The National Stem Centre to take part in an Engineering Extravaganza where they took part in four workshops; designing, building and costing a skyscraper, landing a mars rover, building a rocket car and evaluating materials for use in daily life.

Last night, the students were tasked with doing a 'Balloon Debate' - a number of fictional profiles for people were provided and the scenario was that everyone was in a hot air balloon that was plummeting because it was over-filled.

High profile guest speakers joined in with secondary school students including our very own Sirius Academy West and Sirius Academy North students to take part in the mannequin challenge.

To support the cause, the PE department have designed an opportunity for students from all year groups to take part in a range of sporting activities, at lunchtime, such as football, badminton, netball and cricket. This was a fun way to test students’ abilities against those of the PE staff.
