Global Enterprise Week 2017

[20 Nov 2017]

On Thursday 16th November, eight Y9 students travelled  to Craven Park to take part in an enterprise event as part of Global Enterprise Week. The students took part in a series of tasks challenging their team-working and creativity skills. The final task required students to design their own event to be held at the stadium. Our pupils created a family fundraiser event which was aimed at raising awareness of homelessness in the area.

Twenty-one groups competed in the event, made up of students from secondary schools across Hull. The pupils had to promote their ideas to a series of judges as they circled the room. From this our pupils were then short-listed in the top six groups. This required them to pitch their idea on stage to a panel made up of representatives from local businesses and also to the room of 200 staff and students! The pupils did exceptionally well and managed to finish in 5th place (out of 21 groups) scooping themselves a £100 prize in the process.
