‘Little Bang’ STEM Careers Fair

[04 Jul 2016]

On Friday 1st July, a  group of year 8 and 9 students took part in the inaugural SAN “Little Bang” (so called as a homage to the Big Bang STEM careers fair that we attended at Doncaster Racecourse on Tuesday).

Local STEM employers and training providers ran workshops on how science and mathematical skills fit into their workplace, and the importance they place on these skills.

The students participated in workshops ran by:
KCOM
Green Power Racing
Yorkshire and Humber Careers
Hull Training
University of Hull
Amongst the activities on offer, students took part in a bridge building exercise; designed the home of the future and learnt how F1 cars are designed and built.

The students conducted themselves excellently throughout the afternoon and all the employers remarked about how engaged the students were.
