The year 7 students pulled on their Sirius North jersey’s for the first time this year! Taking on Sirius West, the local derby to rival KR and FC.

Miss Gay had insight on both teams, has she trained both teams over the last two weeks.

The first 10 minutes was a close battle with both teams showing solid defences, causing the ball to come lose in wet conditions.

Sirius West broke the deadlock when a key player broke the defensive line. They then extended their lead to 10, when the hooker sent an outrageous dummy to squeeze over the line in the corner!

North pulled  it back to 10-6 when Dec, Louis and Callum displayed fine attacking skills to send Dec clear.

Corey then made two important try saving tackles to keep West out. However, in the last tackle, a second Dummy sent Sirius West into the corner, leaving the score 14-6 at half time.

West then knocked on at the kick off, allowing North to apply the pressure, but we couldn’t find the killer pass to break the line.

West then went clear to make it 20-6. However, the heads didn’t go down and George, David and Tommy laid the groundwork for Louis, Dec and Callum to link up, resulting in Louis scoring, making the score 20-10.

Corey, continued to show his excellent defensive work, tacking a West player into touch.  Setting an exciting finish to the game.

George broke the line, heading to the corner, however a Corey style tackle, resulted in him getting bundled over the line 5 metres short.

Outstanding performance from the yr 7’s tonight. With only 5 players out of the team representing local rugby teams, with more then 2/3 of the team playing their first game.
