YEAR 8 FOOTBALL – 21 Oct 2015
The Year 8 football team played tonight against `Boulevard and the pressures of football management stretched my decision making skills to the limit.
We narrowly lost last season and were hoping to field a full strength team that would have easily seen off a mediocre Boulevard side.
As the day went on one student after another was facing an after school detention. The students know that detention must come first.
Four players had an after school date with detention and we fielded a much weakened side. Despite a show of great determination we struggled to score…….cross bar and post just not good enough I’m afraid.
The final blow was Jacob Pacey having to be carried off….we played on with a bare 11 players
Final score 2-0 to Boulevard.
Sour grapes but it was hard to score against a six foot eight goalkeeper
