Badminton Success and Yr 8 rugby fixture cancelled tomorrow
Update on last weeks badminton result, the following students represented the academy in the Hull Active Schools competition.

The KS3 team drew SAW and Kelvin Hall in the first round.

Callum Shaw won the opening singles game 21-20
Samir and Sam lost the opening game doubles game 21-14
Charlie let slip a 10 point advantage to lose 21-20
Callum and Same lost the final point to make the score 21-20 to SAW.

The results meant that the team did not qualify for the final against Hymers College.
KS4 team drew Boulevard and SAW in the opening round
Each player put on a fantastic performance and this meant they won all of their games against SAW and Boulevard and reached the final of the tournament, where they faced Hymers College, who are current Yorkshire Champions.
Airunas won the opening game 21-17, causing a massive upset to the number 1 seed in Hull.
Mohammed and Airidas lost the opening doubles game 21-9
Ignas lost his singles game 21-14
Airunas and Mohammed won 21-19
This meant the scores were tied 2-2 in regards to number of games won, this mean the winner of the final game would progress through to Yorkshire stages of the competition.
Sadly, Ignas and Airidas lost 21-14, meaning the students picked up silver medals.
