Student Leadership

Prefects
At Sirius Academy North we have a number of Prefects who have been given certain responsibilities in the Academy. Our Perfects all have to go through our interview process that includes an application form which is then followed up with an interview with staff as well as our lead prefect team. Appointment is made on the interviews as well as their attitude to learning, leadership skills and how they display our curriculum Principles around the academy.

Lead Prefects – No Limits/ Respect/ Support/ Broadening Horizons/ Community
No Limits – Ana
Ana leads by example and is involved in promoting the reward aspects of the academy.
Respect– Grace
Grace, our head of Respect, runs our student L1 Rep Programme. Every half term, our L1 rep meeting is held to provide feedback and ideas to help develop and improve the academy based on our students suggestions. Grace also runs a number of Respect campaigns.
Support – Emily
Emily leads on our Peer mentor programme that is used at Sirius Academy North. Emily supports all of students that need additional help.
Broadening Horizons Hannah
Hannah is working with our Enrichment team to provide opportunities to our students.  Hannah helps promoting new activities and works heavily with PE providing competitions for students to partake in.
Community- Michelle
Michelle is involved in organising and developing charity and parental events that we hold in the academy.

The Student Voice Process
Our Student Voice is a platform that allows the academy to gain an insight from our students perspective and to work together to build a brighter community. Our Student Voice is created in a way to engage student feedback and to channel this in a productive environment.
It is increasingly important to ensure that all of our Academy uses their voice within the educational system.
Grace, our Year 9 student is our lead for Student Voice.
Every L1 team has a L1 Representative.
Every half term, a student voice meeting will take place. In the run up to this, the meeting will be shared with the academy and time will be given during our  lesson 1 for students to raise questions with their L1 representative.
