Student Leadership

Student Voice

Our Student Voice is a platform that allows the academy to gain an insight from our students perspective and to work together to build a brighter community. Our Student Voice is created in a way to engage student feedback and to channel this in a productive environment.

It is increasingly important to ensure that all of our Academy uses their voice within the educational system.

Student Leadership

Prefects

At Sirius Academy North we have a number of Prefects who have been given certain responsibilities in the Academy. Our Perfects are selected at the start of each academic year and are chosen based on their attitude to learning, leadership skills and how they display our curriculum Principles around the academy. Every prefect has to complete an application form which is then followed up through an interview process.

The Student Voice Process

Sam, our Year 10 student is our lead for Student Voice.

Every L1 team has a L1 Representative.

Every term, three student voice meetings will take place. In the run up to this, the meeting will be shared with the academy and time will be given during L1 for students to raise questions with their L1 representative.

Sam will chair these meeting and bring specific points up that may need to be addressed from a teachers perspective.

Sam will share the minutes from the student voice with our SLT team for feedback.
