Hull City Academy Visit
Today 24 students from both Collingwood and Clifton Primary Schools, enjoyed a fun-filled, sporty day at Hull City Academy. They started off the day with a tour of the facilities at the Bishop Burton College, then went across to the sports hall and separated off into teams to learn about team games. The students were able to apply skills like; team work, listening and cooperation in the different games they competed in and could earn points for their teams.
Students then had the opportunity to meet some of the rising stars of the under 18 teams and ask them questions. The students thought of great questions like; what inspired you to get into football? How often do you train? What’s the best thing about the academy? The students also learnt about the nutrition of the players and the different foods that the players have to eat in order to play the best.
After lunch they were able to put the skills, from the morning session, into practise and the students competed in 5-a-side football matches against each other. The winning team was the green team, who won the most matches, and they walked away with medals. It was a great day from start to finish and the student’s behaviour was exemplary throughout.
