HULL – Conflict Mineral Free City

[22 Jun 2015]

Students have worked on their proposal to make Hull the first “Conflict Free City” in the UK. They help take the paper to  the chambers and witnessed their motion passed by all 49 councillors in attendance. Hull is now a conflict free city, thanks to Mike and our pupils hard work and campaigning. This is a huge success for the city and for the pupils at our Academy. This was a very proud moments for the students and staff involved.

A journalist from the Hull Daily Mail was present and spoke to Molly Lawrence, watch out for the item in the newspaper.

The pupils have worked jointly with Sirius Academy students on this project and it has been wonderful watching them collaborate on such an important issue.

It doesn’t end here, Mike is now looking to move the referendum to MPs. A very exciting journey to look forward to.
