Monday 11th February – Hull City Academy visit

[12 Feb 2019]

Today we took students from Thorpe Park Primary School and The Greenway Academy visit Hull City Academy, at Bishop Burton. The Students had a thoroughly enjoyable day.

They started off training with the coaches and went through some football warm-ups in teams. They were then invited to watch the under 23s Hull City team train.

The students then met with the team’s nutritionist, who taught them about the right foods to eat to fuel the body. After learning about healthy eating, the students designed a healthy, three-course meal for a football player.

Two of the under 18 players were then asked lots of probing questions by the students, about the types of foods they eat and who their favourite players and teams are.

After lunch, the students put all of there skills to the test in a football tournament. All the teams played well and behaviour and sportsmanship was excellent throughout. The winning team was then awarded medals and celebrated their victory.

The day was a great success, with one pupil saying, “It was my best day ever.”
