RB Dragons Den Design Challenge
A group of Year 8 students visited the Reckitt Benckiser R&D factory on Thursday 24th March, so they could pitch their idea for a new product to a panel of “Dragons”. This consisted of directors from Reckitts Benckiser; Design Solutions Ltd; Smailes & Goldie Accountants and a journalist from the Hull Daily Mail as the fourth ‘dragon’.
The five students had won the Sirius Academy North heat with their design and were up against students from Sirius Academy West and Boulevard Academy.
The Sirius Academy North team consisted of Andrew Smith, Thomas Dobbs, Dominik Gal, Edward Liversidge and Fayadh Al-Hinai. The panel were very impressed with the group’s presentation, teamwork, and initiative and awarded them the “RB Ownership” award, in line with their own brand values.
