SAN started off strong with a well-crafted game plan, they moved the ball well and looked to push it into the paint early. Unfortunately, the opposition had other ideas and they managed to come out of the first quarter with a two-point lead. The second quarter was a back and forth affair, with neither team able to gain an advantage. The third quarter saw a complete turnaround, with the SAN basketball team showing what they were made of. Led by their star player Peter, they pushed the tempo and opened up a 3 point lead.
This lead was increased further in the fourth quarter, with the team playing some of their best basketball of the season. The defence was solid, with many great defensive plays that stifled the opposition’s offence and shut down their best players. The game ended with a score of 35-29 in favour of SAN basketball. It was a great display of team spirit and determination that saw them through to the win. The team will now look to build on this performance and continue to get better as they move forward playing Hull Stingers next week.
