Sirius Academy North Year 7 Girls finish 4th in Hull Schools Rugby Competition

[14 Jan 2020]

The Year 7 Girls played in their first rugby tournament for Sirius Academy North and can be extremely proud of their performance and improvements over the 3 games played.

Sirius Academy North 1 Archbishop Sentamu “A” 6
The experience of the Archbishop Sentamu team shone through, with the majority training for Hull KR twice a week as they ran in six tries against in the inexperienced Sirius North side. But credit to the girls, they never gave up and managed to get themselves a try of their own in the late stages of the game when the impressive Bridie Shepherd showed her speed and strength to go over.

Sirius Academy North 2 Sirius Academy West 4
Sirius Academy North started the game well with a fine solo try on their first set of six, Sirius West got a couple of quick tries, but the North girls were not giving up and showed great determination to equalise, making it 2 – 2 at halftime. The second half Sirius West got two more tries, but the improvements from the North girls was there for all to see, and they were really enjoying playing the game.

Sirius Academy North 3 Archbishop Sentamu 4 “B”
Once again, the improvements were massive in their third and final game, and they were unlucky not to win the game. A couple mistakes gifted Archbishop some of their tries, but Sirius Academy North scored three great tries of their own and narrowly lost the game by 4 tries to 3.

Please congratulate the girls on their effort, attitude and behaviour, they were an absolute credit to the Academy.
