Sirius CCF 30th – 31st March Field Weekend
The cadets of Sirius CCF were blessed with a weekend of fine weather for their Field Weekend, which saw 13 of the contingent training in Strensall, York. A varied programme was delivered by excellent staff from 4 Infantry Brigade Cadet Training Team. The two days of activities included the Dismounted Close Combat Trainer (DCCT) – a large realistic Xbox which shows targets of 100metres and 200metres on a screen, an afternoon of paint balling, patrolling at night, tactics and skills associated with living in the field.
The weekend has given the cadets a wonderful opportunity to develop their leadership qualities, communication skills and self confidence. Some great characters and some memorable moments and I would like to thank them all for making the weekend a very enjoyable one.
