Sirius North Y11 visits the Radio One Academy
On Sat 11th February, 11 Year 11 students and Mr Sullivan and Miss Blanchard, braved the elements to travel across the city to our sister school Sirius West. This was not a normal school trip – this was to be part of the audience for Radio One, who were presenting their Saturday Morning breakfast show live from Sirius West Academy! X-Factor 2015 winner, Louisa Johnson performed a couple of wonderful acoustic versions of her songs live, one of which was an amazing version of Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’. Dynamo then took to the stage, talking to the audience about how he transformed his life from being a bully victim growing up on a Bradford council estate to the world famous Magician he is today! He talked about his battles with crohns disease and how his inspiration came from his dear Grandad. He even performed a trick on radio DJ Adele Roberts that blew the audience away and made us realise why he is as famous as he is. A wonderful morning was had by all and even Miss Blanchard and Mr Sullivan were star-struck!
