The Big Bang Science Fair
[29 Jun 2016]
A group of 53 students from across the year groups visited The Big Bang Fair at Doncaster racecourse, which aims to showcase a wide range of STEM careers available to them.
Alongside the careers fair, we also took part in two science lectures. The first was “From Amoeba to Zebra” and told the story of how we have evolved from single cell organisms to homo sapiens, through the medium of rock music!
The second was “Fun Science” and, amongst other things, students learnt how to make a homemade hover-board using a leaf blower, and the science behind dry ice.
All the students were a credit to the Academy and were excellently behaved throughout the day.
