Becky Anderson and I took some of our students across the bridge to Cleethorpes to take part in a 2 hour Greatest Showman vocal workshop. The trip was a reward for students for their hard work and commitment at Karaoke Club and in their singing lessons this year. The workshop was delivered by a professional vocal coach who taught us some useful vocal techniques and harmonies as well as how to perform and present yourself when on stage. The session started with a sing-a-long to the The Greatest Show followed by This Is Me. Soon after, we put together a beautiful rendition of A Million Dreams which involved all Under 16s in the audience invited up to perform the first part of the song at the front. All of our students gladly took this opportunity leaving me and Mrs A in the audience seats wishing we could join them!! To finish the workshop, we had two very energetic performances of The Greatest Show (foot stomps included) and of course, This Is Me.
All of the students had a fantastic experience and have learnt some useful techniques which will be incorporated into their future practice and performances. The students were impeccably behaved and a credit to themselves and the academy!
I have attached some photos and videos of some of the performances (hopefully they will play, I had to compress them).
