Y8 and Y9 Girls Football Success
Miss Workman and Miss Griffiths took the Year 8 and 9 girls’ football team to St Mary’s for the Hull Schools football competition. While the Year 9’s played just 2 weeks ago, it was a chance for the Year 8’s to step up and represent the Academy.
We were drawn into a group with The Marvell College, Kelvin and St Mary’s. Both games against Marvell and Kelvin were extremely close encounters, with our girls narrowly losing both games 1-0. However the girls found their feet in the final game against St Mary’s, registering an excellent 3-0 win against the hosts. Goals from Hannah (x2) and Chloe meant our girls secured one fantastic result.
After the holidays, the Year 7’s team up with the Year 8’s for the penultimate 7 aside girls football competition of the academic year.
