Sirius Academy North Year 11 Team Triumphs Over Boulevard Academy

Sirius Academy North’s Year 11 football team kicked off their league campaign in style, hosting Boulevard Academy in a thrilling match. The sidelines were buzzing with excitement as Miss Branch-Evans, Mrs. Steel, and Mr. Townsend donned their winter clothing to support the boys.

The game got off to a quick start, and within the first two minutes, Sirius found themselves conceding a goal. The presence of three dedicated North ultras (Evans, Steele and Townsend) on the sidelines added too much excitement/ pressure and the North boys conceded a poor quality goal.

Despite the early setback, Sirius Academy North showed incredible resilience and determination in the next ten minutes, creating numerous scoring opportunities. However, they struggled to find the back of the net. The turning point came when Abdullah and Oscar showcased their class, netting three crucial goals, leaving the score 3-1 in favour of Sirius at the halftime break.

The second half began much like the first, with the boys facing the pressure of an ever-increasing crowd size and the guidance of Miss Norman and her son on the sidelines. Boulevard Academy managed to pull within one goal of North, making it a tense battle.

The defence, led by Ben, Louis, and Lincoln, stood strong, allowing North’s attacking flair to take control of the game. This resulted in an impressive four additional goals being added to the score sheet, with Abdullah and Oscar both achieving hat tricks and Archie finding the net.

Special recognition goes to Mr. Booth, who implemented some “Big Sam tactics” to support the team. His enthusiasm during the match led to some playful dancing and leg tapping, keeping the sidelines entertained, whilst keeping the mosquitos full at dinner.

The title of Man of the Match was awarded to Louis for his outstanding performance on the field.

Sirius Academy North’s Year 11 team celebrated a well-deserved victory, and the fans, including the passionate ultras, Miss Norman and Mr. Booth, left the match with great satisfaction.
