Year 11 Gifted & Talented Sirius Academy North Students Aspirational Residential Cambridge University
Thirty four Year 11 students took part in an Aspirational residential recently to four of the colleges at Cambridge University. They had the opportunity to visit Kings, Claire, St John’s and Corpus Christi Colleges in order to gain an insight into life at the flagship university. Students toured St John’s College and learnt about the famous Alumni including Professor Stephen Hawkins. The students said they benefited by being able to discuss fees, accommodation and qualifications required with post graduate students from Kings College. Following this students took a guided tour in a punt along the river cam where they learnt even more about the history of each college, university life and the use of the university as the set for several films including the Theory of Everything depicting the life of Physicist Dr Stephen Hawking. Students were incredible ambassadors for Sirius Academy North and it was a privilege to take such a group on a residential.
