Year 7 and Year 8 Rounders Success
Miss Workman and Miss Wilson took the Year 7 and 8 girls’ rounders team to St Mary’s to take part in the annual Hull schools rounders competition.
We were drawn in a group with Newland School for girls, Kingswood Academy and the Boulevard Academy.
SAN 5 – Kingswood Academy 1 and a half
Our girls got off to an excellent start with a superb fielding display meaning Kingswood were limited to scoring very few rounders.
SAN 8 – Boulevard Academy 5 and a half
In our second game, our girls’ batting game improved, with some excellent rounders scored against a competitive Boulevard side.
SAN 7 – Newland School 7 and a half
Our final game proved to be a cracker against a good Newland team. A combination of fielding errors and good batting displays from both teams meant the match was always going to be close. Newland clinched it, winning by just half a rounder!!
The girls finished joint first overall with 2 wins and 1 narrow defeat.
The girls played superbly and were a credit to the Academy.
