Year 7 Semi-Final Cup Match 30/03/2023
Sirius Academy North vs Boulevard
On Thursday evening after school were the year 7’s was in a semi-final game against boulevard with a final in the cup on the line, and what a game it was! The boys started off well with Mason’s long-range strike took us into a deserve lead, however, boulevard managed to bring the game back level. On the stroke of half time a one-two between Toby and Raul created a well-deserved goal for Toby to finish and give SAN a 2-1 lead into half time. The second half is where the game was an entertaining watch with the goals going in left, right and centre. With the woodwork been hit a numerous number of times. SAN were in control of the game going into the final minute with goals from Riley, Leland penalty and Josh to give the boys a 5-3 lead in dramatic fashion! Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep it that score line with Boulevard scoring 2 goals in the final 2 minutes, leading the game into penalties after the whistle blew. As penalties been taken there were a lot missed and saved from both teams with Josh making some outstanding saves keeping the team in the tie, but it wasn’t enough to keep Boulevard out as the away team were victorious with a score line 0-1 on penalties. Even though it was tough result for the boys to take they did the academy proud with their performance throughout the game and should hold their heads high.
