Year 8 Football success for website
Year 8 students took on Winifred Holtby after school tonight and had a real battle on their hands.
With 5 minutes to go in the first half we were leading 3-1 and looked as if we had started to take control.
Unfortunately, we conceded an own goal and even worse 4 minutes later after a misunderstanding in the defence lead to yet another goal for Holtby
We sat licking our wounds at half time with the score at 3-3.
The students showed real passion and started to grind out a result. Continued long ball into the Holtby 18 yard box eventually brought success and we took the lead early in the second half.
Unfortunately, Holtby refused to give in and they came back yet again. The final 10 minutes was nail biting but Sirius persevered and scored twice more… Sirius sealing a victory.
