Year 8 Netball Match Report

[02 May 2024]
Despite the unpredictable British weather, last week saw a blaze of excitement along the PE corridor as netball, rugby, and football competitions were taking place simultaneously.
During the past two Thursdays, the Year 8 netball teams have proudly represented the Academy in the Hull Active School Netball Competition, hosted at St Mary’s. Competing against local schools from the Hull area, the girls have displayed remarkable growth and improvement throughout their matches.
In the first week of competition, the team faced some challenges, struggling to find their rhythm on the court. However, they refused to be discouraged and used the experience as an opportunity to learn and grow together as a team.
By the second week, the girls had truly found their stride, exuding newfound confidence and skill. Despite facing tough opponents from Sirius West and Kelvin, the Year 8 netball team held their own, impressively securing draws in both matches.
This display of resilience and determination is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the team. Their commitment to improvement and their ability to adapt and overcome challenged have been pivotal in their success on the court.
As future competitions unfold, there’s no doubt that the Year 8 netball team will continue to grow from strength to strength.
A standout performance deserving special recognition is from Olivia A, whose sportsmanship and determination shone brightly throughout the match.
