Year 8 Rugby
On Monday evening the year 7/8 males travelled over to Kingwood Academy to represent the Yr 8 rugby league team. With over 50% of the team playing up a year, it was going to be a tough challenge.
The students started off positively and Year 7 student Declan Opie commanded the game, with his experience and talented kicking game. Declan Wilds and Liam Forsyth took the game to Kingswood, with several line breaks, that resulted in a 6-0 lead after 10 minutes.
Kingswood then took advantage from our handling error and they ran 50 metres, to touch down under the posts. From the kick off, they then managed to slip the grasp of the defenders and race down the wing to touch down in the corner.
Charlie Lawrence (Yr 7) then dodged, weaved and ducked his way over the line to make the score 10-10. Two late tries from either side, left the final score 14-14.
